kyu kin’22: Beyond

In May 2022 the kyu collective held its second annual virtual conference: kyu kin’22: Beyond.

Leading up to the event, my team and I were given the exciting challenge of crafting a new identity that would build upon the previous year’s design. The original design featured the illustrated faces, shapes, and wordmark you see below. It was also monochrome.

Our goal was to create a visual identity that exuded warmth, creativity, and collaboration. By experimenting with layering colors and textures within the shapes, we were able to achieve a design that felt dynamic and engaging. Pairing these elements with the illustrated faces and adding motion allowed us to weave narratives of collaboration and leadership into the overall concept.

The final result was an identity that not only captured the essence of the conference's themes but also embodied the core values of the kyu collective.
